We are a San Antonio-based law firm that traces its roots back to the 1970s. In 1974, Steven Sinkin began his career as a solo practitioner representing clients in personal injury cases. In 1997, he was asked to help a client collect unpaid child support who was unsatisfied with the results of the Office of the Attorney General. He took the case pro-bono. Though he did not know it at the time, this one case would change his career forever.
During his representation of this client, he discovered that the Office of the Attorney General was incorrectly calculating interest in every one of their child support cases, resulting in millions of dollars of child support that was never collected. Justice demanded that this be fixed. He filed a class action lawsuit against the Office of the Attorney General for its error in calculating interest. In the decades that followed, the Sinkin Law Firm evolved into the preeminent child support collection firm, collecting millions of dollars for their clients and helping create and improve child support collection across the State.
